The rapper was sued on Thursday by two of his Donda Academy former teachers. HOLR is breaking down the details of the lawsuit.
On April 6, two former teachers who have worked at Kanye West Donda Academy filed a lawsuit against the rapper as the school seems to not be following “multiple Department of Education requirements”, as People writes here.

Chekarey Byers and her mother Cecilia Hailey complained about safety conditions in the school, as well as lack of teachers’ “Basic Life Support skills”, and low nutritional levels of food served.
“As an educator with over twenty-five years of experience and having served as the dean of two colleges, Hailey detected multiple health and safety violations, as well as unlawful educational practices at Donda Academy,” has been written in the file. “Additionally, throughout the entirety of Plaintiffs’ employment, the only lunch available for students was sushi, every single day,” the document wrote. “Only West’s issued or designed apparel was allowed to be worn. Nike and Adidas brands were forbidden,” it continued.

Although the two teachers have complained about the conditions to the school principal, it seems that the complaints have not been taken into account. “Plaintiffs complained to [principal Moira] Love about various violations of Department of Education requirements, including but not limited to the fact that Donda Academy was not following state regulations for students in need of educational services, additional testing, or individualized learning plans,” the file read.
“No action was taken to remedy Plaintiffs’ complaints regarding sanitation, health, safety or education standard pursuant to local and state law, which Plaintiffs made throughout the entirety of their employment,” the document wrote. “Instead, Ms. Love called Plaintiffs ‘aggressive’ in the presence of others.” it continued, as Us Weekly writes here.
For the moment, no comments have been made by representatives of West, although People and Us Weekly have reached out to his team.
