Shayne Jansen is sitting down with HOLR to discuss how you can meet your NEW crush- with Best Fiends!

Best Fiends has quickly become one of the most popular mobile games in the world, boasting over one million daily active users. Developed by Playtika’s studio Seriously, Best Fiends offers players an innovative twist on classic match-3 puzzle games. Plus, the game features graphics and an exciting storyline. The latest campaign now includes three 30-second videos starring Temper, Jojo, Gordon, Howie, and more (the mischief-loving Fiends) as they partake in a series of hijinks.

Talk to us about your partnership with Best Fiends and how we can meet our NEW crush with the brand’s latest campaign. 

Yeah! They reached out to me, and- I’ll be honest- I’m very strict about what shoots I want to work with. If you look at these characters and who they are, they’re basically who I am- I’m wild, I’m weird, I’m all over the place! It was so fun and it felt like it was a great fit.

Why do you love about Best Fiends? 

I don’t know if this is good or bad but I love how addicting it is! In general, it’s so fun to play. It brings good vibes and a cheerful attitude. I love it.

You were recently on two of Netflix’s hottest shows, Love is Blind and Perfect Match. Talk to us about these experiences. 

Oh man- I’m going to be here for three hours talking about this question! There are so many things I’ve learned. My whole life changed and I learned so much. It’s a hard question to answer because it depends on what you want to know. One thing I learned about myself- relationship-wise- is that I am very reactive. When it comes to certain things I’ve learned I can’t be like that anymore and I have to be more relaxed when it comes to certain things. Some of my partners are not as hyped up or energized as I am and I have to learn to balance that out a little bit.

What was it like finding love on TV? 

It’s hard to explain because for both shows it was so different!

For Love is Blind, it was different because it’s hard to explain- I definitely loved her but did I fall in love with the idea because the process was so quick? It’s difficult to figure that out. Love is Blind was also way more intense than Perfect Match. Perfect Match was a little easier to figure out in terms of who you wanted to get with. It was more fun too- there was no pressure to get engaged. These were two totally different situations.

Can you share some dating advice for our audience? What have you learned from your past experiences that you’re looking to take with you into future relationships?

Here’s the thing- I used to have dating advice but now I probably haven’t gone on a date in like 8 months. I haven’t done much. I flirt in my DMs a little bit because it keeps things fun but I’m not going on dates right now, I’m not in that place. Last year was so traumatic with my parents dying and these two shows, so it’s been a lot. I’m just not ready for that right now.

I can’t really give advice but I can say this- I was afraid to go on Perfect Match because I was afraid to put myself out there again. Now I know that it’s important to always put yourself out there. This is because you never know what’s going to happen and you can always learn something from everything you do.

What does 2023 look like for you?

I usually never know what my next week looks like half the time! I plan on moving to Fort Lauderdale because I want to get out of Chicago, I need a change. I’m moving my whole life so it’s a little scary. In other news, I’m starting a fitness program with Izzy from Perfect Match. I also have something else in the works that I can’t mention just yet.
