Reddit users have taken to the platform to discuss the murder, trial, those involved, sentencing, and more in this thread. Here’s what some people had to say about the gruesome case.

“Sounds like CPS was all over this case and their best efforts weren’t enough. Heartbreaking. Absolutely heartbreaking,” said one user.

“[The] aunt should be charged with negligence. She allowed the mother to move into the home despite being told that the mother was unstable and a threat to the baby,” stated another.

“No, something could have been done. The aunt could have obeyed the direction of the CPS and not allowed the mother to move into the home. The aunt was told, probably on multiple occasions, that the mother is mentally unstable and should not be allowed near the baby unsupervised. The aunt, despite the warnings, still allowed the mother to move into the home that had not only the unfortunate infant but another child as well. The aunt is negligent. She, willfully or not, put both those kids in danger,” echoed another.
