Killers of The Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s latest movie debuting at Cannes Film Festival 2023, received a nine-minute standing ovation, Deadline notes.

The movie is an Apple Original Films project and features characters played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert de Niro. After the screening, director Martin Scorsese talked about the movie to the crowd.

“Thank you to the Osages. Everyone connected with the picture. My old pals Bob and Leo, and Jesse and Lily. We shot this a couple of years ago in Oklahoma. It’s taken it’s time to come around but Apple did so great by us. There was lots of grass. I’m a New Yorker. I was very surprised. This was an amazing experience. We lived in that world.” Scorsese said.

Following the screening of the 206-minute drama, the audience showed its appreciation by giving a nine-minute standing ovation.

According to Variety, Killers of The Flower Moon was the most anticipated movie at the festival.
