Kamala Harris Picks Her Vice President Running Mate

August 6th, 2024 – Democratic Candidate Kamala Harris has announced her pick for Vice President.

This morning, Kamala Harris announced the person who will be running with her as a vice presidential candidate. Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to run beside her in the 2024 election.
Walz’s election to the campaign has brought the presidential race to the attention of many generations. Walz served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years. He then taught high school social studies and coached high school football. Walz has a fairly liberal agenda, and he’s been vocal in his stances on modern-day issues and popular topics. Some of his ideals include enhancing new gun control laws, creating paid leave programs, legalizing marijuana, and protecting LGBTQIA+ rights. Walz has been clear about his agendas even before becoming a political figure. He even facilitated the first gay-straight alliance at the school where he used to work back in 1999.
Harris and Walz are scheduled to make an appearance today at Temple University. The event, which begins at 5:30 EST, will be their first together. While the event is live at Temple, it will also be available to livestream. The rally is Harris’s first of seven stops as part of her “Battleground State Tour,” the first of many on the road to the 2024 election day.
