Band urges fans to purchase tickets through official channels amid soaring resale prices
Band’s Response to Resale Concerns
October 21, 2025: Canadian rock legends Rush have expressed awareness of the challenges fans face due to inflated ticket prices for their upcoming “Fifty Something” reunion tour. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson acknowledged that resellers are “having a field day” by marking up ticket prices significantly.
Lee emphasized the importance of purchasing tickets through official outlets, stating,
“Please go to Ticketmaster or Rush.com to get your tickets.”
He further urged fans to be cautious and purchase from authorized sources to avoid inflated prices.
Tour Details and Ticketing Information
The “Fifty Something” tour, set to commence on June 7, 2026, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, marks Rush’s first tour in over a decade. The tour will feature 40 shows across North America, concluding on December 15, 2026, in Vancouver.
In honor of the late Neil Peart, German drummer Anika Nilles will join Lee and Lifeson on stage. Tickets for the newly added dates will be available through official channels, with presales starting October 27 and general sales beginning October 31.
Fan Reactions and Industry Critique
The band’s acknowledgment of the resale issue has resonated with fans and industry observers alike. Many point out that both fans and artists are adversely affected by the current ticketing system. Even high-profile artists like Rush receive a minimal share of revenue, with the majority going to large corporations.
Fans and critics alike emphasize the need for transparency and fairness in ticket pricing and distribution, hoping the band’s guidance encourages supporters to buy tickets through official sources.
