Alec Baldwin Begins His Trial For The Rust Shooting

July 11th, 2024 – The criminal trial for actor Alec Baldwin has recently begun after an incident on the set of the movie “Rust.”. Baldwin was given a prop gun for a scene and was told to practice firing shots at a nearby hill. Unfortunately, the gun had live rounds instead of the fake prop ones, causing the injury of director Joel Souza and the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Assistant Director David Halls and Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were also charged in the incident, with many claiming negligence on both their parts.

As of now, Halls has pleaded no contest, while Gutierrez-Reed pleaded guilty to manslaughter and not guilty of tampering with evidence. Gutierrez-Reed has also been sentenced to 18 months in prison for “not cooperating” after she was called to testify in the next few days of trial.
Baldwin currently has no developments in his part of the case as they continue to bring in more evidence to decide his fate. He currently pleads not guilty to his charges.
