According to this Instagram video posted by user @popfactions, a BBC News presenter – Maryam Moshiri- issued a public apology after seemingly giving the camera the middle finger while live on air.
She took to X-formerly known as Twitter- to issue an apology to her audience after the video went viral online and she became an instant online meme.

Moshiri claimed that the middle finger moment was a “joke” and that she did not realize “that this would be caught on camera.” It was allegedly just a “private joke with the team.” As a result, she took the opportunity to apologize to viewers. “It was not my intention for this to happen and I’m sorry if I offended or upset anyone. I wasn’t ‘ flipping the bird’ at viewers or even a person really.”
