On Wednesday, Oct. 23rd, Pelicot took the stand in court for a trial centered on her former husband’s alleged actions.
He is accused of drugging and raping her during their marriage and inviting dozens of other men to assault her, according to the BBC.
The BBC also reported that Pelicot requested that the videos of the alleged rapes to be shown in trial.
Metro UK reported that Pelicot requested an open trial and said that she wants all women to say “If Madame Pelicot did it, I can too. I don’t want them to be ashamed any longer.”
“It’s not for us to have shame – it’s for them,” Pelicot continued.
