Halle Berry Is Seeking Sole Custody Of Her Son Maceo

Halle Berry is currently seeking sole custody of her son, Maceo. Berry shares the 10-year-old with Spanish Actor Oliver Martinez. The couple were married for two years before separating in 2015. However, tension lingered for the couple as they had a long-lasting divorce case. Berry is now still feeling the disconnection between herself and her ex-husband, so she’s filing for sole custody of their son.

Berry claims Martinez failed to continue seeing a co-parenting coach the couple had been seeing, which is affecting his behavior toward her and Maceo. She also claims he “refuses to co-parent and communicates in a child-centered way.”. Halle is currently seeking authority in Maceo’s education, health, and therapeutic needs. Berry claims she’s tried to address her son’s “educational challenges” and additional behavioral concerns as she “fought for tutoring, an educational assessment, and finding an environment that was suitable to Maceo’s needs.”. It was also noted the couple disagreed about how to treat their son after he exhibited some behavioral issues. Berry claims that Maceo would “act out” toward her following “longer periods of custody” with his father and that her son would “repeat disputes” that the former couple had in private. She alleges that Martinez claimed the boy was “old enough to make his own decisions.”.

Martinez and his team have not commented on the situation. However, Berry is actively filing her claims to get custody of her son.
