J.D. Vance is Donald Trump’s New Political Running Mate, who took to the stage at the RNC (Republican National Convention) this week.
July 20, 2024 – J.D. Vance (James David Vance) born John Donald Bowman, introduced himself to the RNC audience as well as America. For many political watchers, especially Trump observers, Vance’s name hasn’t been out there in the consciousness of news watchers.
If Trump, 78 wins re-election as President of the United States, J.D. Vance will become the Vice President. Donald Trump’s former Vice President was Mike Pence during his Presidency (2017 – 2021).
Vance is now part of Trump’s “Save America” organization and his political team.
So Who is J.D. Vance?
J.D. Vance 39, had the biggest night of his political career. Vance is a Senator from Ohio. He was born James Donald Bowman, on August 2nd, 1984 in Middletown, Ohio. His parents got divorced when he was young. When he was a child his Mother changed his middle name from David to Donald. Eventually, he dropped Bowman and took his Mother’s maiden name as well, which was Vance.
Early Political Career
His bio says that he joined the Marines right out of high school. Later, Vance attended Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He went on to achieve a Law Degree at Yale University in 2013, which began the surge to jet-start his political career. After Law School, he worked for a Republican Senator.
In 2016, after spending a few years in California working in investment and tech, he returned to Ohio from California. He spent the next few years supporting the Republican party. Ohio is a predominantly red state.
In 2021, Vance ran for junior U.S. Senator in Ohio after Republican Rob Portman decided not to seek re-election.
Anti-Trump Years
Before Vance ran for the position of Senator, a few years before in 2016 he was publicly against Trump. He did not support the 45th President and openly spoke out against him saying that he was not good for America. Vance would go on to call Trump a ‘moral disaster’ and possibly ‘America’s Hitler.’
Hillbilly Elegy
J.D. Vance wrote a best-seller in 2016 that did so well it was produced into a movie. The Hillbilly Elegy aired on Netflix in 2020 and was directed by Ron Howard.
Now that Trump is officially the Republican Nominee in the Presidential race, in the next coming weeks, we will be seeing more of J.D. Vance in the public arena.
