Kaia Gerber was recently in Texas to promote ‘Bottoms’ at the South by Southwest film festival. We have some details about the movie, which premiered at the festival and had a limited theatrical release on March 11th.

As noted by Economic Times, ‘Bottoms’ is a queer comedy set in a high school. The new movie, which will have its second screening at the SXSW Festival on March 15th, is directed by Emma Seligman. Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, stars in this comedic movie together with Rachel Sennott, Ayo Edebiri, Havana Rose Liu, and Ruby Cruz. Gerber plays the character Brittany, one of the cheerleaders being pursued by two lesbian teenagers, as this article on Deadline pointed out.

As a part of the movie’s promotion, Kaia Gerber traveled to Austin, Texas to attend the premiere. She arrived in an elegant sleeveless form-fitting white dress, which matched her white heels.

Before being cast in ‘Bottoms’, Kaia Gerber starred in the popular American Horror Story and was also in several different movies, including the 2016 ‘Sister Cities’.

The Nepo Baby Drama

Being the child of supermodel Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber is no stranger to the accusation that she is only successful because of who her mother is. In an interview with Elle, however, Gerber has responded to questions addressing the remark about her having it easier because of a family member.

“I won’t deny the privilege that I have,” the young star said, before hastily adding that she has “met amazing people” through her mother’s vast network. Despite rightly acknowledging and agreeing that she is very privileged, Gerber was quick to defend herself by stating that just because someone might be an artist’s child does not necessarily mean anything in the world of acting.

“Nepotism is prevalent”, the actress admitted, “but I think if it actually was what people make it out to be, we’d see even more of it.”
