Internet Personality Lil Tay is reportedly in the hospital recovering from heart surgery. A video was shared of the rapper hooked up to a series of hospital machines, resting after what appears to be surgery on a heart tumor. Her team says they’re “overjoyed to share that Tay’s open-heart surgery was a great success,” adding their deepest thanks to all of her doctors.
The video was followed by another post confirming the video wasn’t a hoax. Lil Tay was in the news last year for seemingly having passed away. However, Tay came out and blamed her dad for making up the rumor at the time, something he flatly denied. Since the hoax last year, many social media users aren’t buying the heart surgery announcement. While the video appears more authentic, it may not change the minds of some who are pointing out that Tay has a new single coming out next week and think this might be another publicity stunt. Soon after the death hoax, Tay released a new song and music video. So, while her team backs up that the video is not a hoax, it looks similar to last year’s situation. Lil Tay and her team have not commented further on the heart surgery announcement or the hoax claims.
