The singer alleges the pair breached their 2023 deal by breaking the terms meant to silence public discussion.
What Ray J Is Claiming
November 15, 2025: Ray J (William Ray Norwood Jr.) has filed a cross-complaint against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, accusing them of violating a $6 million settlement agreement tied to their infamous sex tape. According to his legal documents, the deal included a clause that no one would publicly reference the tape again — especially on The Kardashians.
Alleged Breach on Reality Show
In the countersuit, Ray J says that after the settlement was signed, multiple episodes of The Kardashians (including in Season 3) repeatedly mentioned the sex tape — violating the terms they agreed upon. He claims they then tried to retroactively change the agreement, but he refused.
His Version of the Tape’s Release
He also alleges that Kris Jenner and Kim orchestrated the original 2007 release of the tape, and that previous legal claims denying their involvement were part of a larger strategy for publicity and power. Ray J points to what he describes as a long pattern of manipulation and contrived narratives.
Legal Demands and Next Steps
In his filing, Ray J is asking for at least $1 million in damages, plus legal fees and “other relief’” he considers “just and proper.” He also wants the defamation lawsuit Kardashian and Jenner filed against him dropped or limited, calling it a publicity play.
The Kardashians’ Response
Kim and Kris’s legal team has dismissed Ray J’s countersuit, calling it a “frivolous distraction.” Their attorney has said it’s an attempt to shift focus and hasn’t intimidated them.
