Rumors of Swift being in line for a live-action superhero role at Marvel Studios and DCU have been making the rounds on the internet for quite a while. Fans of both the pop icon and superhero communities were skeptical of this gossip, but they might be in for a surprise. We’ve recently received news that there might be a grain of truth to Swift’s hero debut.
Taylor Swift Starring in New Marvel Role?
In an article, ComicBookMovie.com revealed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had met with Swift to discuss potential roles for the ‘You Belong With Me’-singer. Daniel Richman provided even more details with an inside scoop.
Richman explains that the project Swift could be a part of is a 1950s spy show. CBM.com agrees, clarifying that Swift could potentially be starring in The Blonde Phantom.
Created by Stan Lee and artist Syd Shores, The Blonde Phantom is a lesser-known Marvel character from 1946. She was originally a secretary for a private detective called Mark Mason. Soon, however, she began fighting crime on the streets, donning a red evening gown and black domino mask. Though she doesn’t have any powers, The Blonde Phantom is a talented hand-to-hand combatant, relying on her ingenuity and marksmanship to get her out of tight situations.
While Swift’s participation and alleged role remain undisclosed, another household name might be making a comeback.
CBM.com revealed that none other than Scarlett Johansson, the infamous Black Widow, is returning to the Marvel studio, not as an actress but as a producer. Whether the project she will be producing is The Blonde Phantom is unknown, but the resemblance between The Blonde Phantom and Black Widow is undeniable. If anyone could do the blonde superhero justice, it would be Johansson.
