Season 2

Marvel Studios just dropped the official trailer for season two of ‘Loki’. This is the first of any Marvel Studios show to get a second season. Take a look:

There is so much to discuss in this trailer. We left season 1 with Loki misplaced in another timeline. Characters that he had grown close to, like Owen Wilson’s Mobius, did not know who he was.

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is revealed to be suffering from “Time Slipping” which he describes as “being pulled through time, between the past and the present”.

This was caused by Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie killing He Who Remains (a variant of Jonathan Majors’ Kang), which breaks the singular timeline into the multiverse.

In his time-slipping, Loki sees the world in “utter destruction“, which sets up the storyline for season 2. There isn’t much more revealed, but we do know that Kang is a key antagonist.

There was speculation around whether, or not, the role of Kang would be reduced or recast, due to Jonathan Majors domestic violence charges, but he is shown multiple times in the trailer and is said to be in “about half the episodes”.

We also get a first look at Ke Huy Quan’s character: Q.B, who works at the Time Variance Authority (TVA) with Mobius.
