This Year’s All-Star Gala In Support of SickKids Raises $85,000

Recapping the 2022 SickKids All-Star Gala in support of SickKids.

Last Friday, June 10, the All-Star Gala in support of SickKids raised $85,000 for infant congenital heart disease research and care at the Labatt Family Health Centre.

2022 All-Star Gala In Support of SickKids

This year’s Olympic-themed star-studded soiree was hosted by CTV’s ETALK anchor Tyrone Edwards. It also saw 1,200 attendees mix and mingle with Canadian Olympians and pro-athletes throughout the night, all the while enjoying an open bar, live music, and a luxury silent auction.

Guests also had the opportunity to view a live fashion show, in which notable guests took part in modelling the designs.

Special moments

The evening offered a heartwarming moment between the mayor and the guest of honour, Charlie Thomas, who was surprised with a VIP Toronto Blue Jays experience for him and his family.

Charlie is a SickKids heart miracle, and patient ambassador, who suffers from dilated cardiomyopathy. As Charlie puts it, his heart is “too big.” As a patient ambassador, Charlie is advocating in support of infant congenital heart disease research and care at SickKids hospital, which has helped Charlie since his diagnosis.

Notable guests in attendance

Notable guests who attended the All-Star Gala in support of SickKids included the Toronto mayor John Tory, Elvis Stojko, Joan Kelly Walker, Chloe Wilde, Humberly González, Olympians, Victoria Moors, and Alysha Newman. There was also live music from R&B pop artist Jesse Gold.
