Ah, summer… between work, spin classes, patio dates and all the food and music festivals the season has to offer, sometimes you don’t have time to wash and style your hair. Rest assured you’re not the only one with hair going into day four since its last wash – we’re all in this together!

From shampooing to conditioning, to blow drying and styling, it’s no secret that washing your hair can be dreadful, — especially when you’re constantly on the go. Listen, I’m not here to promote dirty hair if that’s what you’re thinking. I’m actually here to let the busy or lazy gals (and guys) know that it’s not hard to create the illusion of freshly washed hair.

Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo will always be the number one quick fix for bringing any greasy mane back to life. It’s portable so you can throw it in your bag and use it anywhere – shower head not required. My go-to is Batiste Original Dry Shampoo because it’s super affordable and it works well for absorbing grease and creating volume.

Texturizing Spray

While dry shampoos are magical when it comes to transforming limp, oily hair, texturizing sprays are just as magical when it comes to styling. For my ladies who are pressed for time, a texturizing spray is excellent for achieving effortless beach waves and volume in seconds. I highly recommend IGK’s Beach Club Texture Spray. Literally a vacation in a bottle, the scent is to die for if you’re into tropical, coconuty scents. Simply spray onto your hair and scrunch with your hands. Hello heatless waves!

The Sleek Ponytail

Nothing says “I’m ready to slay the day” more than a sleek ponytail. Embrace those greasy roots and look polished in a matter of minutes – all you need is a fine-tooth comb, a tight hair elastic and hairspray. The fine-tooth comb helps to combat hair bumps and effectively smooth out your hair during the process of building your ponytail.  To polish the look off, hairspray is key for controlling those baby hairs and pesky flyaways.

The Messy Bun

Don’t we all love a messy bun? This cute look works well with hair going into day three and beyond. All you need is a tight hair elastic and a couple of bobby pins. A texturizing spray is optional if you want to add more texture to your tresses before putting them up into a messy bun. The beauty of this bun is that it’s imperfect, so no need to fret over every wisp of hair. Check out this YouTube video for a compilation of quick messy bun tutorials!

L’oreal Paris

All in all, no one has to know that your hair has gone unwashed for days – that’s a secret you can now keep to yourself with these quick and easy fixes. Also, washing your hair less frequently is better for your hair and scalp anyways!
