As of February 23rd, one of the girls has been charged with aggravated assault and three with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. If tried as adults, they could face up to five years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.

All four students have been indefinitely suspended from Central Regional High School in Berkeley Township, New Jersey. In a recent interview with FOX News, Adriana’s father, Michael Kuch, expressed his determination to ensure that the students responsible for the attack are punished. Michael wants laws put in place to prosecute those who make, post, and share such videos. He would also like phones to be banned from schools, to prevent the culture that makes students believe such attacks are fun.

The video that Michael is referring to shows Adriana and a friend walking down the hallway when one girl hits her in the face with a water bottle. Adriana falls to the ground, and a group of students repeatedly punch and kick her while cheering is heard. Two school workers eventually step in and stop the unprovoked attack.

Adriana’s tragic death highlights the ongoing issue of bullying and harassment in schools. It is essential to recognize that bullying can have severe and long-lasting effects on individuals’ mental and emotional health, leading to consequences like suicide. In such cases, it is necessary to take swift and appropriate action to ensure justice is served and that similar incidents do not occur in the future.
