Fans of vampire stories, rejoice! It seems that the famous Twilight Saga series will get a TV show adaptation. Here is everything we know so far.

Who will produce the Twilight Saga TV series?

According to Just Jared, the TV adaptation of the Twilight Saga will be overseen by Lionsgate Television. Stephanie Meyers, the author of the best-selling novels on which the TV show will be based, is reportedly going to be involved in the production too. This project is still in its very early stage of development, thus there is no certainty so far on when it will be ready for streaming.

The Hollywood Reporter says that there is no confirmed screenwriter yet since Lionsgate, which controls the rights to the franchise, has not secured one. Lionsgate might end up producing the TV show independently before shopping for potential buyers.

How successful was the entire saga?

The news of the popular young adult franchise getting a new life comes 11 years after the movie ‘Breaking Dawn 2’ hit the theaters. As a whole, all the movies in the saga generated over us$ 3 billion at the global box office. Currently, all the movies are available via NBC Universal’s platform Peacock after previously being on Netflix.

John Feltheimer, the CEO of Lionsgate, said “There are a lot more stories to be told, and we’re ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories.”
