Taylor Lautner Responds To Comment Made About John Mayer
Taylor Lautner has made headlines this week after making a comment that he is ‘praying for John [Mayer].’
For context, the actor was asked about Taylor Swift‘s song, ‘Back To December’ which was written about him after the two stars’ breakup in 2009.
In response, Launter stated, “I think it’s a great album. Yeah, I feel safe. Praying for John.”

From the moment the internet caught wind of that statement, it spread like wildfire. To add fuel to the fire, Lautner posted a TikTok with praying hands as ‘Dear John’ by Swift. Swifties took his quote and video to TikTok and grew in views overnight.

Lautner has recently addressed his comment and the popularity it gained.
While being on SiriusXM’s The Happy Hour, he mentioned the comment and where his head is at after the attention.
“I don’t know if it was the wisest thing to say. I was definitely joking. Clearly, it’s taken off,” Lautner says, his wife, Taylor Dome also gave a comedic response to the statement.
“He said that and then I was like, ‘Okay, guess you’re going with that.'”
Lautner responded, “She knew immediately. She’s like, that’s gonna really trigger the Swifties. Or, I mean, they’re supportive of it because, I mean, I don’t know. I personally think John is a very talented musician, but I am aware of a couple songs that were on that album.”

The Taylor’s began dating in 2009 and they went on to dating for several months but called it quits in December of 2009, hence Swifts song, ‘Back To December.’
