Kanye West is under fire online for posting inappropriate content on X and for directing viewers to his website.
Kanye West Tweets
Kanye West’s X (formerly Twitter) account has been deactivated following a series of controversial posts that included antisemitic, misogynistic, and racist rants. The move comes after Elon Musk, the owner of the platform, reportedly labeled West’s account as “NSFW” in response to the rapper’s increasingly offensive content posted recently. Musk’s decision to take action follows mounting concerns over the impact of Ye’s posts, especially after a user advocated for the account to be banned, citing the repeated appearance of NSFW material on the platform, as noted here.
In his latest response, Musk acknowledged the issue, emphasizing that content of this nature should not be allowed to spread, especially when it disturbs or offends other users. While some supporters of West argue that the rapper’s freedom of speech was being stifled, many others praised Musk’s decision, calling for stricter measures to prevent harmful content from circulating on social media platforms.
West has now supposedly deactivated his previous account himself.
Kanye West Website
West’s posts, which have stirred outrage in the past, have often been controversial due to their inflammatory nature. The latest rants included derogatory comments that violated X’s terms of service, which prompted swift action. The platform’s decision to deactivate West’s account highlights a growing shift in social media policies towards curbing hate speech and ensuring user safety.
Kanye West Super Bowl
West is also getting extreme backlash after he used a Super Bowl commercial this past Sunday night to direct viewers to his website (here, posted by user @DailyMail on TikTok), where he is now reportedly selling T-shirts featuring a swastika. People commenting on the above TikTok video are warning others to NOT go to West’s website.
The symbol, associated with Nazi Germany, continues to be used by far-right extremists today. Kanye West’s use of the swastika symbol on T-shirts is harmful as it seeks to normalize harmful ideologies, perpetuating discrimination and trauma.
