A Rockstar Wedding in Las Vegas

October 13, 2025: On October 12, 2025, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante and Butcher Babies singer Carla Harvey exchanged vows in a vibrant and unconventional ceremony at The Secret Garden in Las Vegas. The event was officiated by KISS bassist Gene Simmons and drew over 200 guests from the rock world, including members of KISS, Pantera, Mötley Crüe, Dream Theater, and Nickelback.

A ‘Rock and Roll Twist’ to a Classic Celebration

Describing the wedding as “an elegant Russ Meyer movie with a rock and roll twist,” Benante and Harvey embraced a vintage 1950s vibe infused with elements of horror. The venue was adorned with pinball machines and candles, creating a playful yet romantic atmosphere. Entertainment included an Elvis Presley impersonator, showgirls, and a live jam session featuring Benante on drums, Mike Portnoy, Scott Ian of Anthrax, as well as members of Pantera and Chris Jericho.

Fashion and Personal Touches

Harvey made a grand entrance in a floral lace mermaid gown, arriving in a vintage Corvette. After exchanging vows, she changed into a bedazzled outfit for the reception. The couple’s first dance was to U2’s “All I Want Is You,” a nod to their engagement at a U2 concert in January 2024.

The wedding color scheme of black, gray, white, and purple held sentimental value for Benante, as purple was his late mother’s favorite color. Guests were given custom Bride of Frankenstein-inspired favors resembling the couple.

Culinary Delights and Late-Night Treats

The reception featured a menu of filet mignon, fish, and pasta served family-style. Desserts included slices of a four-tiered vegan wedding cake with flavors of vanilla, raspberry jam, and strawberry shortcake. For a late-night snack, a food truck offered Elvis-inspired peanut butter and banana sandwiches, along with burgers and fries.

Looking Ahead

Following their wedding, Benante and Harvey are diving back into their musical careers. They are finishing the second EP for Harvey’s band, The Violent, and preparing for the release of a new Anthrax album. While honeymoon plans are on hold, the couple hopes to eventually travel and celebrate privately.
