These days, what can’t you get with the Bay’s signature stripes on it? The retail giant offers blankets, mugs, scarves, food, and now, even beauty products. Les Essentiels is the Bay’s first-ever private label skin and colour collection, featuring modestly-priced skincare and makeup products that are cruelty-free. The new collection has everything you need for a pared-down beauty routine, from brushes to mascara to face serum, all packaged in the Bay’s distinctive stripes. I tried out the new collection for myself, and am here to give you the low-down on which products you should pick up for yourself.

Les Essentiels by Hudson’s Bay Double-Ended Mascara

If there’s one beauty product I can’t live without, it’s mascara. I love a mascara that can lengthen, hold a curl, and won’t flake during the day, and the Double-Ended Mascara checks all the boxes. The mascara even holds up in steamy, wet conditions (I may have worn it during a steam room/hot tub situation during a spa day) without running or smudging. It also features a tiny wand (the other end of the double end) that’s perfect for bottom lashes.

Les Essentiels by Hudson’s Bay Face Serum

Much to my embarrassment, I don’t have a serum worked into my skincare routine. That being said, after using the Face Serum with gold, maple and ginseng, I think I’ve finally found one. This serum leaves my skin feeling soft morning and night and feels smooth on the skin, without any tackiness or oily feeling. It also smells amazing and feels extra hydrating on the skin.

Les Essentiels by Hudson’s Bay Lip Serum

I’m someone who absolutely hates chapped lips, so I was super excited to try out the Lip Serum. Made with soothing gold and hydrating rosehip oil, the serum goes on more like a gloss, minus any stickiness, and leaves my lips noticeably smoother and more plumped.

Les Essentiels by Hudson’s Bay Brow Gel

The Brow Gel does just what a brow gel should–fluffs brow hairs and shapes them into place. The gel’s clear gloss makes for a no-mess application while ingredients like hyaluronic acid and tiger grass give the brow area lasting hydration.

Les Essentiels by Hudson’s Bay Colour Stick

This product is perfect for those that want a barely-there hint of blush. With its hydrating rosehip-oil centre, the Colour Stick feels nourishing on the skin, and can be blended in with the included buffing brush, or patted in for a stronger pop of colour.

Les Essentiels by Hudson’s Bay Blurring Perfecting Face Base

The Blurring Perfecting Face Base with plant-derived squalane makes for a really easy to use, all-around great primer that works to beautify the skin while acting as a perfect makeup base.

Les Essentiels by Hudson’s Bay Brush Set

For a relatively cheap price ($60 for 5 double-sided brushes) the Brush Set feels like a luxury set that covers all the bases. It’s a product you absolutely can’t go wrong with.
