Resorts in Mexico, the Caribbean and beyond to reopen this summer with an array of new safety, sustainability and wellness initiatives.

With COVID-19 border measures set to ease on July 5, those who are fully vaccinated will no longer have to quarantine when returning to Canada. After more than a year of limitations and stay-at-home orders, having the freedom to escape and enjoy time with loved ones holds greater meaning to Canadians than ever before! With this in mind, Club Med is starting to welcome back Canadian travellers, while prioritizing the safety and peace of mind of its guests. The brand’s Flexible Cancellation Policy continues to allow vacationers to make short notice changes to bookings, while the Emergency Assistance Program provides travellers with medical coverage in case of emergency during their stay.

Combined with another program called the Safe Together Program, hygiene and safety measures are to be enhanced and strict protocols are to be implemented across all resorts worldwide. New measures include temperature checks on arrival and periodically during the stay; protective face coverings for staff; hand sanitizer available throughout the resort; deep cleaning and frequent sanitizing of surfaces and facilities; capped resort capacity and medical staff available 24/7 in the resort.

Another program called the Happy Digital Program offers contactless check-in/check-out. From childcare services to water sports, guests will be able to sign-up for their favourite activities upon arrival at the resort, all from the comfort of their cellular devices. Other initiatives and commitments that Club Med focuses on for a safer and better future, and to ensure that guests experience only serenity and comfort while travelling, include:

Sustainability: Club Med is committed to reducing its social and environmental footprint through a variety of initiatives. In 2018, Club Med launched its Bye-Bye Plastics program and is on track to ban single-use plastic products from bars, restaurants and rooms by 2022.

Rest and Relaxation: Club Med’s new Yoga School, developed in partnership with the esteemed Heberson Oliveira, has been designed to cater to all types of travellers, allowing for both mental and physical growth. The courses are tailored to each destination and all different skill levels.
