Jon’s advice:

We’re tapping into hair expert Jon Reyman, Dyson Global Styling Ambassador and celebrity hairstylist, for his take on how to achieve this look- and more!- using the Dyson range.

Y2K hairstyles are all the rage this season! How can we best achieve the coveted Kim Kardashian side-swept look she wore to Milan Fashion Week?

Jon: To get this look use the Dyson Airwrap multi-styler. Depending on your hair type and texture your prep will vary. If you have fine hair with little to no volume, only shampoo your hair in the shower – you can use conditioner if you’d like, but use very little – with fine hair it could weigh your hair down and create less volume. If you have medium or coarse hair, you need shampoo and a bit of conditioner – the goal here is volume.

Once you are out of the shower, define your side part with a tail comb; clip it and separate. Add in mousse if your hair is fine and if your hair is medium or coarse use a softening agent and a bit of mousse to help with style retention.

The Airwrap can help create your look from start to finish. Start with the Coanda smoothing dryer attachment to get rid of excess moisture. Then use the round brush attachment to extend and elongate your hair. Once 90% dry, use the 40mm Airwrap barrels to get those bouncy waves. Hold the barrel horizontally. Once done lightly brush out the waves and finish it with a defining paste and hairspray.

When maintaining bleached blonde locks, it’s important to properly condition them as the ends can feel super dry and stripped from the colour. The Oribe Bright Blonde Conditioner For Beautiful Colour restores brightness and shine to blonde hair.  As well, the amika Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Purple Intense Repair Hair Mask will help moisturize and tone your hair to ensure it looks brighter and feels healthier and more conditioned.

Jon’s Advice:

Celebs like Shay Mitchell and Sophie Turner are rocking red hair this season! Do you have any tips, tricks or advice when it comes to maintaining healthy locks for anyone interested in updating their ‘do to a new shade?

Jon: Firstly, I highly recommend going to a good hairdresser who is great at colour (no at-home colour)! Secondly, it is important to understand different damages, by understanding this will help create a path to healthy hair. There are different types of damage – chemical, heat, mechanical and environmental. Since you are colouring your hair you are chemically damaging it, and because you are doing this, I strongly recommend trying to minimize the other damages (heat, mechanical and environmental). Here are my tips on how to do this:

Wet hair is very weak. Make sure you are using the right shampoos and sprays if necessary to help strengthen your bonds. I recommend K18’s spray to build those bonds and help prevent any break-offs. Wash your hair less or if you can’t, use less stringent shampoos.

To help minimize heat damage when you have coloured hair (even in general) – I highly recommend Dyson’s haircare range; the Dyson Supersonic, the Dyson Corrale and the Airwrap multi-styler. These tools will help you achieve healthy styles without catastrophic damage to your hair. Dyson’s haircare range features Intelligent Heat Control; for example, the Dyson Supersonic measures air temperature over 40 times a second and regulates the heat. This prevents extreme heat damage, to help protect your hair’s shine. The Dyson Corrale straightener features flexing copper plates to shape to gather hair evenly so that you can create your desired style but with less heat.

Mechanical damage is the repetition of doing one action over and over again. For example, going over the same pieces of hair with a straightener. Doing something like this is often the process of trying to avoid heat damage – trying to go super fast to get the look done! With Dyson’s haircare range, specifically with the Dyson Corrale, we can take our time using less heat to aid in preventing mechanical and heat damage.

If you’re looking to permanently commit to red locks, going to your stylist to get the perfect shade is the way to go! If you’re looking to rock the red temporarily, try the Moroccan Oil Colour Depositing Mask. As outlined on Sephora, this is a dual-benefit mask that deposits temporary color while thoroughly nurturing hair, giving it a healthier look and feel.

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily Ratajkowski is rocking fashion-forward fringe this season! The model debuted her latest look on IG and we’re obsessed with the side-swept bangs she added to give her face more dimension. Bangs are a great way to add some texture to your look and they perfectly ompliment Emily’s face, giving her a sultry look.

Bangs are a suer simple way to revamp up your hair for fall. By adding bangs or face-framing layers to the front of your face, you instantly add more dimension to your look. Emily went a step further by rocking wavy, tousled locks giving her hair that extra bit of texture that’s perfect for rocking this fall and beyond.

Jon’s advice:

Bangs are officially back- what are your top tips when it comes to styling fringe?

Jon: There are so many different fringes out there – love the fringe! Again, depending on your hair type and texture will help us understand how to style it. If your hair is fine and limp, we first need to make sure that we shampoo the fringe only, no conditioner. Also, if your hair is prone to getting greasy quick I recommend adding a bit of dry shampoo to the fringe when wet. On the other hand, if your hair is a little coarser put the right amount of oils and creams to prep it. To help style, you can use the Dyson Supersonic with a round brush or the round brush or barrel attachment on the Airwrap multi-styler. This will dry the fringe and create great volume. If you want to add some more bend to the hair, take your Dyson Corrale and gently add.
