The series’ first season was wildly successful when it first aired in February of 2022, with a 97 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Additionally, the series received 14 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.
The science-fiction series follows the main character, Mark, as he leads a group of office workers whose memories have been separated between their work and personal lives.
The first season focuses on Mark, who is played by Adam Scott, and his experience with the memory separating procedure called “Severance”.
The supporting cast includes Britt Lower, Dichen Lachman, Zach Cherry, and Oscar winner Patricia Arquette.
Why is Severance Season 2 Taking So Long?
Ben Stiller, who is typically known for his roles in comedy films, is actually the director of “Severance”.
Stiller recently said on the podcast “Hey Dude… The 90s called!”, “We shut down for the length of the strike and then had to regroup and get back up to speed and do some writing work.”
From late spring to the end of summer in 2023, the Writers Guild of America went on strike over a labour dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
The strike halted all industry projects for 148 days.
Stiller continued, “That took a few months, and then we went back in and started shooting in January and shot from January to April.”
Fans can expect to see more thrilling suspense and outstanding performances in the upcoming season.
