Silky, rich, and now entirely plant-based, Amarula is a South African cream liqueur that brings the flavour of Marula fruit to life. Now available on LCBO shelves, Amarula Plant-Based is unlike any other cream liqueur. Crafted from gathered Marula fruits that fall from their tree-top perches during the summer months in Southern Africa. Turned into a fruit wine before coconut cream and sugar are added to create the luxurious and decant flavours of vanilla, nuttiness, coconut, and soft citrus/tropical fruit notes in every sip of that Amarula Plant-Based.

Marula trees, lovingly nicknamed ‘the elephant tree’ bare fruit that elephants travel miles to feast on. The Amarula Trust aims to safeguard African elephants, working directly with Wildlife Direct and Herd to keep elephants coming back to meet under the Marula trees for years. Amarula Plant-Based is vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut free, and has no artificial flavours.

However, those 3 simple ingredients of Marula fruit, coconut cream and natural cane sugar and are not all that comes with a bottle of Amarula Plant-Based. Look at every bottle of Amarula Plant-Based, and you will also see the signature Amarula tassel. More than a decoration, the tassels atop the bottle have been crafted by The Handwork Hub-Empowerment Project. Since 2017, 40 million tassels have been made in partnership with the collective. The 100% women and the black-owned collective have enabled women to start their own businesses and enrich the countless lives around them. Here at home Amarula is a large donatnor to Tree Canada’s Edible Trees Program which reconnects people back to their local food sources and builds community. Awarding grants in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec. The donation builds on the brands’ recent charitable initiatives supporting Food Banks Canada and the food rescue efforts of Second Harvest.
