Dave Portnoy was diagnosed with skin cancer, but he doesn’t seem that worried about it.
June 21, 2024- Barstool Sports’ founder Dave Portnoy recently shared his skin cancer diagnosis and neck stitches on X and on Barstool’s “BFFs” podcast.
On X, Portnoy wrote “I did have cancer. I beat it. It wasn’t the serious kind thank God. I can’t tell if Bosco thinks cancer is funny or not.”
Rico Bosco is a Barstool personality, who co-hosts the sports podcast “Barstool Pick Em,” as well as “Barstool Bench Mob.”
In Portnoy’s post on X, Bosco is seen in an arm sling and Portnoy has a bandage covering his neck.
The pair are seen having a conversation regarding their injuries and with Portnoy informing Bosco that he did have cancer.
“I didn’t know,” Bosco said.
“It’s because I don’t make a big show of it,” Portnoy said in reply.
Portnoy, 47, continued on to say “I have a scar going all the way down my neck, I look like Frankenstein. But yes, I’m going to make it.”
Barstool BFFs Podcast
On Wednesday’s episode of “BFFs”, Portnoy discussed his diagnosis with co-host Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.
“Dave do you have a scratch on your neck?” asked LaPaglia.
“Yes, cancer. I beat it though,” replied Portnoy.
“I’ve had a heart attack, cancer and stung by bees, beat it all… I went to a doctor, did a skin thing, they scrape it, and one of them came back cancerous. Got to take it out,” he continued.
