Even though we haven’t heard a lot about Ed Sheeran lately, especially after his career break and his last album release in 2017, “Divide”, it appears he is eager to return to his music and please his devoted fans, while being a new dad.

El Intransigente (August 2020)

The last time Ed gifted us a new piece was last December, almost two months after his daughter’s birth, with his single “Afterglow”, a Christmas gift to his fans, after 18 months of no new music to be delighted.

His last album release was the “No. 6 Collaborations Project”, an album full of collabs with current stars of the music industry, like Khalid, Paulo Londra, Justin Bieber, Skrillex, Camila Cabello, Travis Scott and plenty more.

His other “Collaborations Project”, No.5, was released in 2011, 10 years ago. Sounds like a lot of time, doesn’t it? Yet, through previous years we had several singles, collabs, acoustics, remixes and different releases that kept us very pleased.

Sheeran announced his 4th album release through a post on Instagram where he thanked fans for their support and birthday messages for his 30 years of life. He posted a picture of him on his 3rd birthday and mentioned “currently dressed the same as I was on my 3rd birthday about to chow down on Colin the pirate caterpillar, poor bloke”.

He added that his 4th installment would be released “later this year”, which will leave us guessing for an official release date. Fans congratulated him with birthday wishes and were already guessing on the upcoming album’s title, calling it “Subtract”.

Ed and his wife Cherry have been happily married since January 2019 and had a beautiful daughter, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, shortly after he officially announced his career break in August 2019.

Even though Ed has always been notoriously private about their relationship, he happily shared the news of his daughter’s birth. Cherry and Ed knew each other since they were kids at school but started officially dating in 2015 and got engaged in 2017.

Let’s hope he won’t keep us guessing too much about this new album!
