Fans have been dying to know whether, sweetheart Game of Thrones star, Emilia Clarke is the new Captain Marvel set to replace Brie Larson. While it has been confirmed that Clarke will join the Marvel universe, it seems like there is more to the story. 

Emilia Clarke is best known for her character in ‘Game of Thrones’, Daenerys Targaryen. Although she has had many roles in popular films throughout her career such as in ‘Me Before You’, ‘Terminator Genisys’, ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’, ‘Last Christmas’, and others, her portrayal of Daenerys gave her a massive boost in the film industry. In fact, the hit series took the world by storm and ended its production as one of the most popular television series of all time. ‘Game of Thrones’ even led to other spin-off series like ‘House of the Dragon’, many merchandising, and many fans playing slot games that revolve around the series at casino bonus UK sites. 

The series also led to massive opportunities for the actors and actresses including Emilia Clarke. Certain headlines and rumours have got us thinking that Emilia will replace Brie in the upcoming Captain Marvel 2 movie which is a big deal for the actress. 

However, Clarke has recently announced that she will be joining the Marvel family as a different character called G’iah in the Disney+ series called ‘Secret Invasion’ alongside co-star Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Other characters from Captain Marvel as said to appear in this new series. 

‘Secret Invasion’ is said to be a six-part series that will come out sometime in the summer of 2023. While many Clarke fans are anticipating her role as Captain Marvel, Brie has not reprised her role in the film, yet which is set to come out in November. 

“There’s a kind of punk feeling that you get from this girl,” Emilia said in a recent interivew. “She’s a refugee kid who’s had Talos for a dad, you know what I mean? Maybe the fact that we didn’t know he had a kid up until this point tells you everything you need to know about their relationship. There’s a lot of emotions that live within her, and there’s a lot of confrontational aspects to her character that have come from circumstance. You understand why she has the feelings that she does.”

Captain Marvel 2, now named as ‘The Marvels’ shows Brie Larson in the trailer which means that she is not going anywhere anytime soon. In this sequel, she is joined by Iman Vellani, playing as Ms. Marvel. 

In a recent interview, Larson says “Iman is the future. She is the perfect Ms. Marvel and the most incredible person and castmate. I’m so excited for her success and I’m so excited to see what she will do with her life because she can do anything she wants. She’s one of my favourite people on this earth.”

Although the rumours are still ongoing about Clarke vs. Brie, the latter superhero confirms that there is room for so many female superheroes in the Marvel Universe.
