Fyre Fest: Music Festival From Hell

Fyre Festival was highly publicized but ultimately failed music festival that was scheduled to take place in the Bahamas in 2017. It was promoted as a luxury event, with celebrity endorsements and promises of gourmet food and luxury accommodations, but the reality was far from that.

Attendees arrived to find poorly constructed tents, insufficient food and water and cancelled musical acts. The festival was eventually cancelled and attendees had to be evacuated.

As mentioned above, the event’s organizers, Billy McFarland and Ja Rule, faced legal action and McFarland was ultimately sentenced to six years in prison for fraud.

Here We Go Again

Now, McFarland is teasing a part two of Fyre Fest, claiming ‘it’s finally happening.’

Twitter users rushed the comments, outraged by the lack of remorse McFarland was showing.

One Twitter user responded to the tweet: “Tell me why you shouldn’t be in jail.”

To this, McFarland responded, “It’s in the best interest of those I owe for me to be working. people aren’t getting paid back if I sit on the couch and watch tv. and because I served my time.”

Users online believe that McFarland didn’t learn his lesson, or that he did not spend enough jail time.

Even if Fyre Fest II does end up happening, it’s unknown if sales will be as booming as there were since the first attempt.
