June 19, 2024- One of the most popular gossip columnists and writers of all time, Cindy Adams, was honoured at the Gracie Awards.
Adams, 94, won a Gracie for her work with “The Cindy Adams Show” on 77 WABC Radio, where she continues her talent for gossip and interviews special guests.

Adams is known for her popular gossip column for the New York Post and her contributions to a newscast on WNBC television called “Sunday Today in New York.”
In 1981, Adams became a syndicated newspaper columnist and then went on to appear frequently on Good Morning America.
Adams continues to write for the Post.
Her latest article “Behind the scenes at Broadway’s ‘flops’ and ‘hits’ – and which seasons are the best to go,” was published on June 17, 2024.
Cindy Adams and Joey Adams
Cindy married Joey Adams in 1952.
He was an American comedian and author who wrote the “Strictly for Laughs” column in the New York Post.
The pair were married for nearly 47 years, until Joey’s passing at 88 years old.
Gracie Awards
The awards are named after the late Gracie Allen.
Allen was an American vaudevillian performer, singer, and comedian who became famous with her husband as a comedic duo.
Presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, the awards are given to celebrate and honour media created by women, for women.
The Gracie Awards are held on two days, split between the gala and the luncheon.
The gala is a black-tie theme and it is typically held in Los Angeles, California at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Previous Gracie Award winners include Elle Fanning, Faith Hill, Glenn Close, Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling, Lisa Kudrow, Wanda Syles, Barbara Walters, and Betty White.
