Just two weeks after Hailey Bieber discussed Selena Gomez’s history with Justin on a podcast, the two appeared for their first photos together at the Academy Museum Gala.

At the Academy Museum’s Gala in L.A. on Saturday, Justin Bieber’s ex Selena Gomez and wife Hailey Bieber made it quite plain that all is well between them. The two women smiled and cuddled up for a professional photographer, Selena resting a gentle palm on Hailey’s stomach for one picture.
The images were released just two weeks after Hailey openly declared her “respect” for Selena, assuring fans that the two had maintained contact and that there is no animosity between them.
Hailey opened up about Selena’s relationship with Justin in an extensive interview, revealing her current feelings toward the Disney star. All respect is due. On the Call Her Daddy podcast, the founder of Rhode Beauty emphasized that everything was based on love.
“That’s also why I feel like, well, if everybody on our side knows what happened and we’re good and we can walk away from it with clarity and respect, then that’s fine! That brought me a lot of peace. We know what happened. It is what it is. You’re never going to be able to correct every narrative,” she said, referring to the hatred she has received from Selena and Justin fans.
She also dispelled rumours that Justin had cheated on Selena with her, making it very apparent that they had never been romantically connected while he was dating the founder of Rare Beauty. Significantly, Justin and Selena had a protracted on-again, off-again relationship that began in 2011 when they were still teenagers. Their separation in the spring of 2018 marked the end of their relationship for good. In addition to not being “in a relationship,” Hailey’s husband and Selena were “closing the door” on a prolonged chapter of their life.

Hailey added in the interview, “She has been in this industry much longer than I have, so maybe there’s something she knows about how it wouldn’t fix anything [for her to speak out].”
“I think that everyone is just trying to create this separation, even though there’s clearly not always separation. I have no expectations. I would never expect someone to do that for me. She doesn’t owe me anything. Neither of us owe anybody anything except respect. I respect her a lot. I think there’s just no expectations. If that was something that she felt was necessary, then that would be amazing. But I respect her. There’s no drama, personally.”
Selena Gomez spoke to her fans on social media a few days later to encourage kindness, especially on social media. Although she avoided mentioning Hailey, it was clear that the live stream was in response to criticisms made of the model after the interview.
The Texas native wrote on September 29 on Instagram, “I think some of the things that I don’t need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting and it’s not fair because no one should ever be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen.”
“And all I have to say is it’s incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words because that’s exactly what I want – that’s it,” she concluded.
