Jodie Sweetin Defends The Olympics After Co-Star Candance Cameron Bure Criticizes It

July 31st, 2024 – Actress Jodie Sweetin defends the Olympic Opening Ceremony after co-star Candance Cameron Bure criticizes it.

As most people know, the Olympics have been going on for the past few days. The Opening Ceremony took place this past weekend, and a few people didn’t support what they thought the Olympic committee was trying to portray in the Opening performances.

Candance took to Instagram following a particular part of the opening ceremony that she didn’t like. What many viewers perceived a specific part of the show to be was a drag show version of “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci—a 15th-century painting depicting Jesus Christ and his 12 disciples at a fateful final meal.

Some of Candance’s Instagram posts said, “You asked me to make this shareable on story, so here it is—my take on the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. Since posting, many have tried to correct me, saying it wasn’t about an interpretation of DaVinci’s The Last Supper, but a Greek god and the festival of Dionysus, who is a god of lust, insanity, religious ecstasy, ritual madness, etc. I still don’t see how that relates to unifying the world through competitive sports and acceptable for children to watch. In any case, I’m not buying it. ”

Many people didn’t agree with her point of view, including her Full House co-star Jodie Sweetin. Sweetin’s main response to her ex-co-star was, “Tell me you don’t know about art or history without TELLING me you don’t know about art or history.” Cameron then edited some of her post written above to fire back at Sweetin, saying “people” were twisting her words and not understanding the true meaning of the performance. Let’s just say the house isn’t so “Full” anymore for these ladies. Lately, it’s been more like a family feud.
