Legendary Hip-Hop artist Lauryn Hill is coming under fire for her recent news regarding her tour. The singer announced a few days ago that the U.S. dates for her “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” tour would be canceled. The singer released a lengthy post on her Instagram, canceling around 20 U.S. shows on August 7th. The singer said the main reason was “media sensationalism and clickbait headlines,” which caused the tour to have low ticket sales.
Although many fans were shocked by the cancelations, many fans allege that Hill is not a stranger to an unprofessional work ethic. Last year, Hill had many fans in an uproar because of the unreasonable times they had to wait for Hill to take the stage. However, Hill doesn’t take criticism lightly, and she fired back, part of her statement saying, ‘She’s late. She’s late a lot,” she told the L.A. crowd. “Yo, y’all lucky I make it on this … stage every night. … I don’t do it because they let me do it. I do it because I stand here in the name of God, and I do it. (here)
Fans also accused Hill of commonly canceling events last minute. Some fans commented about the news of the canceled tour, saying, “If y’all buy these tickets, I don’t wanna hear one complaint when she cancels, lol,” or “Not even gonna bother booking tickets again since you love to cancel everything last minute.”. No other news has been released about the cancelations, but it’s safe to say fans are not happy about this news.
