The 37-year-old actress has endured many ups and downs, even taking a hiatus for several years. Now, a “Lohan-aissance” is possibly upon us.
Lindsay Lohan 2024
Lindsay Lohan’s newest film, Irish Wish, is the latest in a string of romantic comedies that many, including Netflix, are dubbing the Lohanaissance.
The 37-year-old is known for her starring roles in The Parent Trap, Mean Girls, and Freaky Friday; in the latter movie, Lohan starred alongside Mark Harmon and Jamie Lee Curtis. With the release of Mean Girls, Lohan was catapulted into fame. But fame wasn’t always what it seemed.

As Lohan’s star began to shine brighter, she became the subject of intense tabloid attention. That attention only increased, with her personal struggles–DUIs, drug use, and family issues–being front and center.
“[W]hen I was younger,” Lohan said in a previous interview, “I was definitely going out too much and I was drinking too much,”
Citing a need to grow up, Lohan decided in 2014 to move to London.
Bader Shammas Lindsay Lohan Husband
Lohan lived in London for one year; after visiting Dubai, she again decided to move. Jokingly calling her life in Dubai The Truman Show because of the structure it provided her, Lohan previously explained how Dubai gave her the “space to have my own vision of what I need to do next,”
Since paparazzi don’t exist in Dubai, Lohan was no longer under the constant media scrutiny that Hollywood is famous for. The actress has been able to complete most of her work online. Lohan also met her now-husband, financier Bader Shammas, while out with friends at a Dubai restaurant. The two married in Kuwait in 2022.
Lindsay Lohan Now Irish Wish Lohanaissance
Aside from a few smaller roles in TV shows, Lohan returned to starring in films in 2022 with the romantic comedy Falling for Christmas, the beginning of a partnership with Netflix. Lohan has gone on to star in the Mean Girls remake and the 2024 Netflix romantic comedy Irish Wish.
Lohan has also accomplished much outside of the movie business. While pregnant with her first child, Lindsay partnered with Nestig to create a nursery line; speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon the actress said that her son, who was born last year, is “my world” and how life-changing of an experience motherhood is.
Per a related article, Lohan does not seem interested now in discussing her troubled past. Could we be living in, as Netflix dubbed it, a Lohan-aissance?
