Paula Abdul Lawsuit

As the TikToker notes, Lythgoe is the executive producer of American Idol and worked with Abdul during her time on the show- and on “So You Think You Can Dance” (SYTYCD). Abdul recently came out to claim that Lythgoe sexually assaulted her multiple times. Documents obtained here as noted in this related TMZ article, claim that the first incident occurred during “one of Idol’s initial seasons” while they were on the road for regional auditions. In this allegation, Abdul claimed that she was in an elevator with Lythgoe when he “shoved her against the wall and grabbed her genitals and breasts … and tried to tongue-kiss her” after the doors closed.

It is alleged that Abdul attempted to push Lythgoe away and ran away once the elevator doors opened. She reportedly decided to keep quiet after informing reps about the incident after being worried she could be fired.

Another incident outlined in the TMZ article allegedly took place after Abdul became a judge on SYTYCD. At one point during her time on the show, Lythgoe supposedly extended an invite to Abdul to come over to his house to discuss work. Abdul thought it to be a professional opportunity so attended.  However, it is alleged that Lythgoe tried to force himself on her and kiss her during their interaction.

Lythgoe has allegedly not commented on these recent claims brought forward by Abdul.
