#soTHISisMS presented by EMD Serono is hosting an in-person, interactive, first-of-kind event in Toronto at Snell Hall on Thurs. Oct. 5.

Living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can be a challenging journey, often marked by silent struggles and isolation. #soTHISisMS is set to reshape the narrative surrounding MS in Canada and create a supportive community. Presented by EMD Serono, a unique in-person event will take place in Toronto on October 5th, offering a platform for individuals living with MS to share their experiences and connect with others.

This event represents a revolution in how we perceive and engage with MS, similar to influential movements like Bell Let’s Talk. The goal is to candidly share the often-underrepresented realities of life with this intricate disease. #soTHISisMS invites individuals living with MS and their loved ones to join the conversation online across Canada by using the hashtag. It’s a chance to shine a light on the challenges and triumphs of those living with MS.

#soTHISisMS Event Speakers

The event boasts an inspiring lineup of speakers who have faced MS head-on and emerged as beacons of hope. Leading the inaugural event is Ardra Shephard, known as Ms. Tripping on Air, a renowned host, blogger, and podcaster. Patrycia Rzechowka, a remarkable MS advocate and documentary creator, will provide insights into her personal MS journey.

Real stories from people like Richard & Marc, a dynamic duo navigating life after an MS diagnosis, and Christina Andaya, an MS-Fighting Beauty Queen and advocate, will be shared. Julie Brazeau, a loving wife and mother of two, will discuss her unique experiences and advocacy efforts on TikTok.

Event Overview

The event offers attendees a full day of networking opportunities, panel talks, a social media workshop, and Q&A sessions with the speakers. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and be inspired by diverse, compelling stories that deserve to be heard.

Hosted by EMD Serono, the healthcare business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany in the U.S. and Canada, this event aims to create, improve, and prolong life for people living with difficult-to-treat conditions like infertility, MS, and cancer.

Whether you can attend in person or not, you can use your voice and platform to share and connect using the hashtag #soTHISisMS. On October 5th, join the conversation about the realities of living with MS by sharing your unique experiences and perspectives.

This event is more than just a gathering; it’s a movement. It’s a chance for the MS community to unite, support one another, and highlight their experiences. Together, we can reshape the narrative surrounding MS in Canada and foster a community of understanding, empathy, and hope. Join #soTHISisMS and be a part of this transformative journey.
