Sydney Sweeney: Hollywood’s Rising Star in the Horror Genre

HOLR has the latest news from Hollywood, and this time it’s all about the talented actress Sydney Sweeney. Known for her versatile roles and captivating performances, Sweeney has recently made waves in the entertainment industry with her portrayal in the upcoming horror film, Immaculate.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sydney Sweeney acknowledged her awareness of the Euphoria memes and credited her new horror film Immaculate to them. She revealed that despite already being engaged in the production of Immaculate when Euphoria season 2 premiered, the internet’s clamour for her to star in a horror film, inspired by her terrified reactions in the show, was not lost on her. In the interview, Sydney said, “I already had the script so I was excited to see everybody’s reactions to Euphoria season two and everybody being like, ‘A horror film! Give us a horror film!’ I was like, ‘Just you wait! I have something in store for you.’ I held onto it for a long time.”

With her impressive acting chops and ability to immerse herself fully into diverse characters, she is poised to captivate audiences once again. From her compelling performances in HBO’s Euphoria to her unforgettable role in The White Lotus, Sweeney continues to prove herself as one of Hollywood’s most promising talents.

Sydney initially auditioned for a role in Immaculate several years ago, but the film failed to materialize at that time. However, with her venture into producing, Sydney not only secured the rights to the film but also took on a starring role. Immaculate, a psychological horror film directed by Michael Mohan and penned by Andrew Lobel, boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano, Giorgio Colangeli, and Simona Tabasco. Premiering recently at SXSW, the film is poised for its North American release by Neon on March 22.
