‘The White Lotus’ Returns with Season 3
February 18, 2025 – HBO’s viral ‘The White Lotus’ returned with a brand-new season on February 16th, scoring a 9.9 IMDb rating.
HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ has been the talk of the town recently. Quickly gathering love and fame, it’s won 15 of its 43 Emmy nominations in its first two seasons and shows no signs of stopping. Now, it’s back with a new season 3.
After premiering, the first episode of the series gained a stunning 9.9 IMDb rating.
Season 3 Goes to Thailand
Director and writer Mike White brings the adored series back to the screen with a novel location. After filming in Sicily and Hawaii, ‘The White Lotus’ has now turned to luscious Thailand. The show follows affluent and aloof vacationers and a colourful cast of resort employees, day by day, as drama and suspense unfold.
Now a staple event of the series, the show quickly captures viewers’ interest with a violent and mysterious death—one that will tie together the rest of the plot. The ensemble-driven “whodunnit” franchise immediately sets the tense tone in the opening minutes of episode one, showing vacationer Zion (Nicholas Duvernay) trying to mediate only to be startled by boom of gunshots in the background. Who is shooting and what (or whom) is being shot at remains a mystery as a ‘One Week Earlier’-title card quickly ends the scene. But one thing is certain: ‘The White Lotus’ has managed to ensnare our attention once again.
‘The White Lotus’ Cast Includes BLACKPINK’s Lisa
The HBO show returns with a spectacular cast, including BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Here, the rapper and singer plays as a Mook, the peppy health guru at the luxury resort. Fans adored Lisa’s performance in the pilot episode, excited to see more.
In an interview with Variety, Lisa commented how nervous she was about shooting for the show, saying: “I’m so nervous; I was sweating. I was like, ‘I can’t remember my lines. I’m blanked!’” Still, she absolutely nailed her character, who she explains is a lot like herself “but flirtier and lady-like — I’m more like a tomboy.”
