Yoga Design Lab is a young Bali based yoga brand that is shaking up the industry with sophisticated technology and uber-colorful designs.
Blending fashion-forward design elements with innovative functionality and bio-renewable consciousness is key to the Yoga Design Lab approach. From insulated stainless steel water bottles, to hot yoga mats comprised of biodegradable natural tree rubber, to the water based inks used in their printed designs, and the rest of the highly functional products with the smallest eco foot print possible; the Yoga Design Lab approach will make you want to nama-stay all day.
In 2014, Canadian surfer/yogi Chad Turner, sold all of his belongings and moved to Bali with the idea to create beautiful yoga mats.
“I was seated in the back of a packed yoga class while on vacation. Looking around, all I saw was a sea of unoriginal, mass-produced, solid colored mats. My thinking was, there must be a way to create a highly functional product that was also aesthetically beautiful, and so the journey began.”
“The goal was to create beautiful, highly-functional products with the smallest eco footprint possible. Countless yoga mats end up in landfills because they’re made from non-recyclable, hazardous materials. While our overall goal is to limit plastics usage, at least we can start repurposing what’s already out there and keep it from our oceans.’” – Chad Turner, Founder/Designer
The young brand produces visually stunning, eco-friendly yoga products designed to inspire, for both men and women, but that’s not it. Yoga Design Lab has helped organizations such as Special Yoga and Our Mala of the United Kingdom; Urban Yoga Foundation and Yoga for Youth of United States; schools; events; community centers; and passionate teachers alike. Giving back is always a great idea, and Yoga Lab Design donates $1 from every purchase to support Urban Youth Yoga Programs in need.
