Across Ontario, many long-term care facilities have been impacted by COVID-19 and to ensure resident’s safety, many sources of entertainment like in-home events/day trips have been cancelled for precautionary purposes. In many cases, family and friends have been unable to visit their loved ones, making the past three months very difficult for these seniors and the staff in these homes.

Many of their residents have been unable to receive the visit of loved ones due to restrictions and social distancing measures. In an effort to give back to the community, Porsche Cars Canada organized a GTA Classic Porsche Parade to visit four retirement homes across the GTA on Thursday, July 9th, 2020.

Together with the Porsche Centres, the Porsche Clubs, and Classic owners, Porsche Cars Canada gathered convoys of vehicles from several decades, providing a stroll through memory lane with some of the brand’s most iconic sports cars of the past. Marc Ouayoun, President and CEO, presented a brief history and fun facts about each of the models while they drove by and waved to the residents. Porsche Cars Canada hoped to provide encouragement and bring positivity and excitement to those who have been quarantining so diligently throughout this pandemic.
