Every year when May comes around fashion, beauty, and art lovers cannot help but take in all the glamour of this blooming month.
2018 brought us a holy MET Gala, an astonishing royal wedding and the Cannes Film Festival. Because the Cannes festival happens to follow shortly after the MET Gala, we think it is safe to say that it is the second most anticipated glam carpet of the year. For eleven straight days the South of France is graced with A-list models, celebrities and European elites in their most stunning haute couture garments.
Just like the MET Gala, the Cannes Film Festival is a time for attendees to go beyond an average red carpet look; why go for minimalism when the event invites maximal attention? As the festival entered its 71st year of screening every genre you can think of, Australian actress Cate Blanchett was the president of the juries awarding movies that are deemed most noteworthy.
From Alessandra Ambrosio donning a fully beaded Zuhair Muard off-the-shoulder gown, Fan Bingbing in an Ali Karoui toulle dress and Lupita Nyong’o looking pretty in Prada pink, the 2018 Cannes Film Festival did not have a dull moment. Scroll below to see all of our favourite looks:
