In the video, Anna Wintour claims that she is a “very punctual person” and has the honor of presenting this award (Fashion Icon Award) to someone who is “often late” referencing Naomi. However, as this article claims, Naomi was not actually late- Anna just moved up the presentation time slot which made it seem that way. She then exited the event in which Samira Nasr presented the award to Naomi instead.
When accepting the award, Naomi said this on stage: “It wasn’t my choice to have the other lady [Wintour]. I’d much rather have this.” seemingly referring to Nasr.
It is unclear what seemingly transpired between the pair to ignite this back and forth on stage.
