In the past, Hazelwood has proven that she is not afraid to make changes to her writing style. Nonetheless, fans were still not expecting a raunchy exploration of kink from the author of ‘‘Check & Mate.”

”Deep End” is about Scarlett and Lukas, a diver and a swimmer who form a relationship. However, the two athletes have a very adventurous side to their intimacy, resulting in many scenes that are not suitable for children (here).

Book lovers remain divided on Hazelwood’s new direction. Nonetheless, ”Deep End” has gained a following on TikTok, where users have loved her previous books.

Smut readers have also spoken about how the protagonist’s sexual exploits are tame compared to other erotic books.
