Fans have been theorizing who the real-life Darrien from Baby Reindeer could be after the Netflix show’s massive success. It was revealed that Richard Gadd played himself in the series, although he recently asked the public to stop speculating about who the rest of the cast’s characters were based on in real life to avoid having others dragged into the rumored online theories.
However, this has not stopped people from going online and speculating themselves, anyway.
According to this TikTok video posted by user @liampennock, people took to the comment section to share their own alleged theories about who Darrien could be based on in real life, as Baby Reindeer is based on a true story of Gadd’s experience.

Again, there is no proof to these supposed claims, but fans seem to think that Darrien- played by Tom Goodman-Hill- is allegedly based on Sean Foley, who is a British director, writer, comedian, and actor. People took to the comment section to share their opinions, even though there is no proof to back up these claims.

Although people online think Darrien is based on Foley, Gadd took to social media to clear up false rumors surrounding people spreading theories.
“People I love, have worked with, and admire (including Sean Foley) are unfairly getting caught up in speculation. Please don’t speculate on who any of the real life people could be. That’s not the point of our show.”
Foley also reshared Gadd’s message on X to seemingly clear his name.
