“A Struggle For Both Parties,” Barbie Ferreira Discusses Struggle While Filming Euphoria

As the new Euphoria season rolls around, viewers are reflecting on the last season, placing their bets on what is to come in this new season.

Barbie Ferreira (who played Kat), announced that she would not be returning for season 3. The reasoning for this was rumoured that Barbie and director, Sam Levinson did not see eye to eye during the filming process of season 2.

Now Ferreira is not holding back and disclosed what went down between the two.

Barbie hopped on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard where she did not hold back on anything Euphoria related.

“I feel like with season two and certain parts of it, I felt was a kind of a struggle for both parties. [Sam Levinson], me… it was a struggle to find the continuation of her. So that was actually really hurtful watching it and seeing the fans get upset,” She says after being asked how she struggled with her character’s storyline in the show.

“Sam writes for, like, things that he relates to. I don’t think he relates to Kat. I like Kat, so I get to go on my own path. At first, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m a flop. I’m a loser.’ It really has been a good thing,” She adds.

Barbie then discussed her exit from Season 2 and why things happened the way they did.

“I don’t think there was a place for her to go. I think there were places she could have gone. I just don’t think it would have fit into the show. I don’t know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don’t want to play that, and I think they didn’t want that either,” She states.

Although, fans are heartbroken over her departure from the show. Ferreira assures fans that she is doing alright by leaving and is feeling good about it.

“I just felt like, maybe it’s like I overstayed my welcome a little bit? So, for me, I actually felt good to be like, ‘Okay, I get to not worry about this and we both don’t get too worried about this,’ because it’s exhausting.”

Did Barbie Storm Off Set?

After reports had surfaced that Ferreira stormed off set due to a rift between her and Levinson, Barbie shut the rumours down completely.

“So, for me, when people ask me about season two, it’s usually they come at me with, like, I was some sort of victim to season two and I’m always like, ‘No, it’s okay, promise. It’s good. I actually did not walk off set. I did sprain my ankle once and had to go get an X-ray. Maybe that’s what they mean?”
