Julie Chen Moonves is back as the host of Big Brother season 26. The new contestants will compete against each other this summer.

July 16, 2024The widely popular CBS TV show kicks off a summer bonanza with a two-day special. Guests include a former police officer and a celebrity chef. There is also a twist to this season. There will be a mystery 17th houseguest.

The Summer’s theme is artificial intelligence. So the speculation is that Big Brother will feature an A.I. component or even be the mystery guest. The hidden contestant could also be a past houseguest from last season or past seasons. So, audiences will have to watch and stay tuned to find out. 

The Winners and Prize Money

In season 26, contestants range from 21 to 52 years old and will compete three days a week to win the game and collect the grand cash prize of $750,000 U.S. 

The two-part premiere happens tomorrow July 17th and July 18th at 9 pm EST time.  The show will return to its regular schedule airing on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. 

Julie will return on the 90th day to announce the winner, runner-up, and America’s favorite play.

Big Brother Survival

The guests survive by nominating each other to be evicted using a public vote. Guests try to outlast each other until there is only one person left.

Big Brother houseguests’ survival rhythm mainly consists of having a variety of interpersonal skills, high tolerance, and knowing how to move strategically.

They are sequestered in the house, cannot leave, and are monitored by cameras and microphones 24/7 for 90 days.

The seasons become more challenging as many of the contestants are fans of previous shows. Producers have to find new creative and challenging ways to keep it interesting for viewers and the contestants.

Can Big Brother Houseguests Sleep During The Day?

According to what several guests over the years have said, the short answer is no. If you’re caught sleeping, the producers will ask you to get up.
