Chase Stokes Talks About ‘Effed Up’ Stranger Things Audition
Outer Banks star, Chase Stokes gave an exclusive story to Access Hollywood about his audition for the role of ‘Steve Harrington’ in the Netflix original, Stranger Things.
“I actually read for Steve Harrington” Chase states.
“I forgot all the lines and absolutely effed up. I drove eight hours from Atlanta back to Orlando, regretting every moment of my life on that… I wish I would have said at least two words”, Stokes says, sharing his regrets on his audition.

He goes on to praise Joe Keery who secured the role for Steve Harrington,
” Joe Keery is an absolute legend, and he is so good as Steve Harrington. I’m super proud of him.”
Chase ‘John B’ Stokes
Although the audition for Steve Harrington didn’t work out, Stokes went on to secure the role of ‘John B’ in the Netflix original show, Outer Banks.
In the first season of the series which aired in 2020, the viewers follow a group of teenagers in the Outer Banks of North Carolina who are called “Pogues“. These teens are determined to find out what happened to the missing father of the group‘s ringleader, John B.
Since then, two seasons of the show have been released which has attracted quite a fanbase.
With season 3 of the show being released a few days ago, fans at home are already seated for the next.
